Welcome to Visual Sky Assist
The purpose of this report-listing application is to get a companion for visual astronomer's observations.
An on-the-field tool to get everytime, during our observations, a list of objects with main data and, above all, its image.
The image doesn't want to be what we exactly have to see throught our eyepiece. It only wants to give us an idea of what are the shapes of every single deepsky object.
Just enter the parameters of the instruments. The image will be returned at the nearest magnification that our eyepiece can do, to get the maximum detail of the DSO.
Surf VSA >> Choose Constellation >> Print >> Observe!
CHOOSE INVERTED IMAGES FOR PRINTING: TAKE THE BEST RESULT FOR VISUAL VIEW FOR DEEPSKY OBJECTS.
Some hints:
- Remember to insert your instrument parameter.
- Objects list is limited to 200 object maximum for constellation.
- The DSO is viewed in the image at the nearest magnification obtained with eyepiece inserted to let us see in the print the maximum detail and shape.
- For bigger diameter: limit your search result with Force Magnitude Limit / Force Size Limit fields.
- If you put NGC55 in the Name Field, the result will return any object that begin with NGC55*.
